We got the word that while we CAN NOT leave Kansas we can get to the border while we wait on the news to head home.
As we traveled east, I was driving and about 3 hours in…. I hear a soft tiny voice from the back seat say, “mama?” I about drove off of the road but tried to remain calm for more than one reason and said, “um, yes?” I glanced back at him and he had a huge smile on his face.
HELLO ?!?!!?! He just said, “MAMA!” people.
Let’s all have a moment of silence please.
Thank you.
AND it’s been “mama” ever since. WOO HOO!
Well, we trekked on to make it to Pittsburg, KS by nightfall. Connor is still keeping up with all of his box of books. It’s been the one constant since this whole thing started.

We got the word that Kansas overnighted the packet to Tennessee. So now we will wait and see if Nashville can get it approved to leave on Christmas Eve.
We spent some time in the indoor pool to help get some wiggles out. We laughed and laughed at his face of seeing swimming for perhaps the first time.
He would NOT believe us that you CAN get swimming trunks wet! Maybe next time he will get the hang of it.

Dinner and bed as we wait for the big day to get word if we can get home for Christmas.
Sounds like you guys are starting from (almost) ground zero. It will be a fun ride.
