On our way home from our serve week in Colorado we took a road less traveled straight into a place that felt just like home when we adopted our precious son, Henry.
Henry has asked us to take him back and to show “ALL the kids” where it ALL began.
And so we did just that! Dodge City, Kansas!
As we crossed out of Colorado and entered into Kansas, Blake and I had PLENTY of time to remember and process our early days and weeks with Henry.
•It is sometimes still hard to believe how we gained a new son.
•It is hard to believe that he has bonded to us so well.
•It is hard to believe that he is right where he belongs.
•It is hard to believe that God in his kindness led us to be parents AGAIN. ME? The one that didn’t want any children to begin with. Also, incredible to see God is guiding us each and every step as we continue to work at how to best meet Henry’s needs. We may have set backs, but seeking Him keeps us grounded as we remember what all He has done and IS doing.
Our first stop was none other than chocolate bananas for all with Sweet Maria. She was so surprised to see us!

Next Henry led us to the park and then the zoo! He raced around trying to show his siblings the animals he remembered so well including the scary tiger.

We had an extra surprise for Henry and it was a water park in Dodge City. So off we went to round out the day with water slides, a lazy river, and splash pads.

What a day- it was healing for all of us.

“The LORD has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy.” Psalm 126:3
Your second bullet is definitely an answer to prayer, praise God!! We just prayed yesterday over that page of our list where we specifically have been asking for you guys to bond so quickly that you were amazed and saw God’s hand all over it! So grateful to God for this awesome update! 🙂
