We ADORE, Theodore!

Our first week home has been filled with blessings. It has had a few challenges as well like LACK of sleep, but thankful that God is using those challenges to mature me. At least I keep asking God to use it in this way. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Perseverance must finish it’s work so that you may be mature and complete, NOT lacking anything.

James 1:4

While the nights have been long, ย it has given us time to bond.

We have caught the first glimpse of dawn each day as we have seen many sunrises this week. The weather has been such a gift!

I have been able to weed the blueberry garden as the sun peeks over the pond.ย  That’s one way to get the job done-have jet lag and a new toddler to help nudge you to the weeds. ย The blueberry bushes are heavy with purple berries waiting to ripen as the days grow longer and longer.
Theodore stays on my hip for most of the day and night. He is waving and saying, “hello” and “bye bye.”

We are cheering and celebrating each change he makes as if he won a Nobel peace prize. ย Just last night he learned his first sign language of “thank you.”

I have been reminded this week of how much time each of our new borns required in those early weeks and months. ย Now Theodore is getting the chance to have a mama meet every last need he has. He also has fabulous siblings and a father to do so, but isn’t quite ready for others to help as much (though we see tiny improvements each day).

While the nights have been long, the jet lag is getting a little better with each passing day.

Poor Blake was headed to work yesterday when he had to pull over in the Kroger parking lot to take a nap ๐Ÿ˜‰. He too has been awake each night from jet lag and Theodore.

Glad to be reminded this week to slow down and watch the sunrise. Remembering just how fast this season will be over. ย ๐Ÿ’™

  2. Do you think Theodore just doesn’t have his days and nights straight yet or is he fearful when night gets here? I’m praying things will be better soon. Rest when he rests if at all possible.

  3. We’ll be praying for all three of you to adjust to the time change, and for you to have the supernatural strength you need to care for your family. I am often amazed at how God blesses me with energy for the day when I would otherwise have very little, when I remember to pray and ask for that strength. We’ll be praying for that strength for you! Hang in there! You guys are doing great!! ๐Ÿ™‚ We are seeing improvements with Theodore with each post, praise God! ๐Ÿ™‚
