Blake and I have seen an amazing thing in this adoption. The body of Christ lifting up our hands like Aaron and Hur did for Moses when the Israelites defeated the Amalekites in Exodus 17:11-13.
We have been amazed at others praying for us and sacrificially giving financially to help knock away at the gigantic adoption fees. We have been given quarters, dollar bills, and even thousands from some we’ll never know. The quarters are as precious as any “big amount.”
This week, an anonymous letter came with $10 telling us that this person wanted to be a part of this adoption. Tears flowed as I read it and then recalled the first card and check that came a week after we said “yes” to adoption. It was from my mother and a card I will never forget.
Then came the fundraiser where my friend, Jill, had a vision to raise money on the “farm.” Many came and many gave. And SO many volunteered to make it happen! I would guess that $17,000 came in as a result of that and is still coming in.
Next, we received a matching grant for $6,000. And another $3,000 in grants as well.
Yes, our hands have been raised when we didn’t know how to keep them raised. Thank you to all who have given and prayed for this precious child to have a FOREVER HOME.
“When Moses’ hands grew tired, they took a stone and put it under him and he sat on it. Aaron and Hur held his hands up- one on one side, one on the other- so that his hands remained steady until sunset.”
