It’s a May Saturday. A day in which many a mother has awoken to find that it seemed like just yesterday she gave birth to her now senior.
On THIS May Saturday it was ME who is the mother of a graduating senior. I actually liked it better when it was “other mothers.” Weren’t we just teaching her to take her first steps and to sound out “b-b– B”?
I awoke to a text from her. She was texting and not talking face to face 😬since she was staying with our family that is in town from Tallahassee.
Her text included a Bible verse in 3 John:
“I have no greater JOY than to know that my children are walking in the truth.” YOU have reason to BE JOYFUL, Mama !!!! 🥰🥰
Her text hit me right where I needed it to. I am so grateful that she met me with scripture to remind me of WHAT JOY it is to know that she is seeking God and loves Him.
WHAT JOY to not only be her mother but her TEACHER TOO for the past 13 years.
WHAT A PRIVILEGE!

May Jesus be the ONE THING you cling to. Our only hope!! (Hebrews 10:23)
Oh Catherine, what a joy indeed!! Congratulations to Alexandra on her graduation and also belated Happy 18th Birthday! 🥳
I love the excerpt of her text to you. No greater accomplishment as a Mom than to have your child love and walk with Jesus! ✝️ I wish her many blessings with her future dreams.
Love y’all, Marianne ❤️

I read this with a lump in my throat and blinking back tears! I get this .. the JOY .. the privilege of having time with our children .. the overwhelming praise to God for who our girl is in Christ .. and the heartache knowing separation is no fun! I will be praying for your heart and A’s journey to Colorado! I love you, Catherine!!!!
