It Would Have Been Such A Boring Day…..

…. had I gotten our Visa for China ahead of time.

We walked to the China Southern counter where as of this morning all 500 seats were taken. And we were welcomed  with,

“Why, yes, we have seats open for you. And since you had such good seats on the last flight that you missed, let me move you to a seat with more leg room.”

We leave at 11:50 pm tonight, May 20, and arrive at our final destination, Nanning, around noon on May 22nd! Nanning is in Guangxi which is the province where  our son’s orphanage is. They will ride a train for two hours to meet us.  He will have never met us, but will be placed into our forever arms on Monday morning (China time).  This is his “Gotcha Day.”

You, family and friends, will most likely be sleeping Sunday evening when this happens.  😴

Blake said that Nanning is a “small” city of 2 million but that they don’t have wifi. 😳 So, not sure about updates for this leg of trip.

We are amazed at all that God has done today!  From missed flights to a place of total need for Him alone. God has sent encouragement and prayer warriors and He has met every need we have.  Let’s call it a day!

He has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy.  Psalm 126:3

  3. We were following your updates yesterday and last night and praying for you. What a day you had! I was reading Jesus Calling this morning and these verses made me think of you:

“What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but gave Him up for us all — how will He not also, along with Him, graciously give us all things?”

You guys are a beautiful example of hanging in there and trusting God through chaos. Can’t what to meet sweet Theo!!

“But as for me, I watch in hope for the Lord, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me.”

  4. The body at Eldad Baptist Chirch will be lifting you up in corporate prayer this morning. It is our annual homecoming service- that feels pretty appropriate, since your whole journey is about making this very special homecoming happen!

“He will direct your paths.” Prov. 3:6

    1. Church, not Chirch – I really should put my glasses on before proof reading & hitting the POST button…

Did I understand that “gotcha day” is in just a few hours? Or is that next Monday?

      Love in Christ,
      CC

By the way, I was handed an iron-on patch the other day for something of Siler’s and I thought of YOU!!! 😉
